Welcome to gone.world. This is the home of sailing vessel Humpback and its crew: David, Charlotte, Arthur, Theo and Hector. We blog mostly about each place we visit and our passages between them. Sometimes, we also talk about other things like babies and children on board, boat-schooling and boat maintenance. At the moment we rarely blog as we’re getting used to David working again.
An ill-fated trip to a nice-enough spot: lost dinghy key retrieved. But then the dinghy broke. Not fixable.
Borrowed a private mooring for the night in a beautiful spot.
Spent a long while here, and we’re six weeks behind on blog posts so… short. Boat jobs and non-education.
Anchored for a night to set up for going into the marina, not much to add as we know the place already!
Spectacular little anchorage off a small pebble beach. Stayed for a night to break up the journey into Hector-sized chunks. Swam a lot. Played a bit. That’s about it.
Beach, botanical gardens, and some relaxation in Fort de France.
Lovely town. Newly opened museum. Kid boats. Clearning the hull. Swimming and jellyfish stings!
Lovely sailing – varied winds, mostly minimal swell, happy children.
Good place to stop. Excellent playground, interesting fort. Broken outboard.
Beautiful, peaceful location. Anchorage to ourselves. Many fish.
