South Water Cay
South Water is a pretty resort island, quiet at the time we visted. Nearby Carrie Bow Cay research institute was really interesting, and the snorkeling nearby great.

A unique place- anchored next to a tiny sand bar, amazing snorkeling and helped to reconstruct an island.
A great, sheltered anchorage. Dinghied to a nearby island, snorkelled the many patches of reef. Beautiful.
Beautiful island. We became caretakers for a couple of days, were chased by a dog, snorkelled a lot and visited North Long Coco in the dinghy.
A beautiful long beach, lots of swimming, sand play and collecting of coconuts. Sadly, much plastic waste too.
Too many mosquitoes and not the beach we expected, so we stayed only 30 minutes!
After an intially difficult time anchoring, we enjoyed a few days exploring by dinghy, swimming, and making new friends.
A quick stop while we cleared in, then we headed to a better protected anchorage to start our time in Belize.
We’re officially out of the river and ready for new adventures. A short time anchored before Belize, enjoying Hector’s 4th Birthday.
