Crossing the Atlantic – Day Eight

It stayed windy through the morning – running with 3 reefs in the main and a heavily reefed set of double headsails. We love double headsails in these conditions. Then, as the wind dropped below 20, we switched to a broad reach with much more of the jib out, then more of the main as the wind continued to drop. Ended with full sails. Lovely days sailing, even if the waves made the first half of it a little uncomfortable.

Night – I got lots of sleep while on watch. Including an intentional three-hour block (I needed to catch up from the previous night). Between that and naps while Charlie was on the helm at the first half of the night and in the morning, I’m almost refreshed!
