Ramsgate

1st to 4th August 2017

I really liked Ramsgate. Despite being a large marina and town, it had a personal feel. We arrived on a windy, rainy afternoon to find a poor, bedraggled lady from the marina staff waiting cheerfully to help with our lines- this same lady was hugely chatty and friendly during our whole visit, and made everything about the marina and local area really easy.

As is normal, we made a couple of trips to the beach and bought a couple of ice-creams during our visit. Arthur enjoyed spotting the knitting that was attached to various posts and rails throughout the town. The architecture of the pavillion was really striking, the refurbishments to which looked brilliant, and the town in general was clean. There were a lot of high-street shops, which was a bit disappointing, but expected in a larger town, though there were also some interesting independent cafes and shops in the arches along the front by the marina.

Below a few photos we took.
